Keith Arnatt was born in Oxford in 1930.He studied at the Oxford School of Art 1951-55 and the Royal Academy Schools, London 1956-58. He taught at Liverpool College of Art 1962-65, at Manchester College of Art 1965-69 and in the Fine Art Department, Gwent College of Higher Education 1969-90. He now lives and works in Wales.

Projects and one man shows have taken place in venues in Europe, North and South America and include Self Burial 1969, Walking the Dog 1979, The Forest of Dean Project 1986 and Wasteland. His work has been included in group exhibitions worldwide.

Keith Arnatt is represented in many Public collections, including the Arts Council of Great Britain, the British Council, the Tate Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the National Museum of Photography, Bradford and the Contemporary Art Society.

An extensive bibliography includes Walking the Dog with an introduction by George Melly, London 1979, Photography as Performance 1986 and Mysterious Coincidences and Rubbish and Recollections, all Photographers Gallery London publications and One Foot Has Not Yet Reached the Next Street, British Council London 1992.
