The Sculpture Trail was featured on Countryfile BBC1 Sunday 11th May 2008 at 11am - Annie Cattrell talked about her new work and explained the thoughts behind it.
Annie Cattrell was awarded joint winner of Bombay Sapphire Glass Prize in Milan 18th April 2008
Artist Annie Cattrell has been commissioned to create a new permanent artwork for the Sculpture Trail. This new work is to commemorate the untimely death of our founder, Jeremy Rees and also to celebrate 21 years of the Trails existence.
Annie is carrying out research relating to geological strata in the Dean and examining methodologies for interpreting the Forest using laser scanning equipment. With assistance from geologists, archaeologists, foresters and industrialists, Annie will develop her ideas and present a new work on the trail late 2007 or early 2008. Please return to this page to find out more in the future as the project develops.
The Trust are keen to continue the approach of commissioning new works which respond specifically to the context of the Forest of Dean and reflect the sociological or geographical character of the place.
