The Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is maintained by The Forestry Commission
with guidance from the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust. This Trust seeks to raise funds for both commissioning artists to create new works, which interpret the forest for the public, and to develop the educational potential of the trail.
The Trust sees the Forest of Dean, its trees, wildlife, industrial past and rich heritage, as a special environment that creates a unique opportunity for encountering the work of artists.
The Trust promotes projects involving artists working in a range of media. The Sculpture Trail is conceived to encourage visitors and residents to visit the trail, to investigate, discover and to be inspired by the magic and mystery of the forest.
