Carole Drake, 1995
Tucked away in a copse of larch trees near Beechenhurst Lodge, Dead Wood / Bois Mort consists of five steels plates buried into the forest floor. Suggestive of nameless graves, Carole Drake’s work bears memories of European forests devastated by war in the twentieth century.
