Baker & Borowski, 2021
We created abstracted compositions by zooming in on details that wouldn't normally be noticed in passing and enhanced their colours by placing them against bold backdrops.
Baker & Borowski
The original goal of this project was to introduce the diversity and colours of nature into urban environments where the glorious spectrum of flowers is harder to come by, and so the Forest of Dean commission posed an interesting question – how (and why) to present images of nature within nature itself and still remain relevant.
The artists approached this by first selecting a mix of flowers found in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley alongside some more ornate blooms. By hanging these huge banners between the trees we’ve emphasised the perspective of the path and signposted an alternative route through. The flowers featured include: Bluebells, Columbine, Red Hot Pokers, Lavender, Rosebay Willowherb, Winter Aconite, Chrysanthemum and Poppies. Graphic Rewilding is on show at Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail until 31st October 2021.
